Microsoft IIS 10.0 – Testing websites

Initial Configurations of Windows server 2019

In this recipe, we will test three websites inside IIS 10.0:,, and We already created some web files, which we uploaded to the website folders.

Getting ready

You already have a well-configured IIS 10.0 server instance and websites (,, and We’ve also configured and pre-uploaded website application files or HTML pages. You may need an administrator user account, depending on the changes to be made.

How to do it…

  1. Open a browser and type in
  1. Look at the address bar; it by default displays Let’s test in the next step.
  2. Type the URL in the address bar:
  1. Here you can see the Demo.html page, which is the default page we configured in the Default Document settings.

  1. We have the IIS 10 server, which has the IP address We are running two websites, and, on IP We added a dedicated IP for the website, and in the same IIS server, you can configure multiple IP address to use specific IPs for individual sites.

How it works…

In this recipe, we tested the website with DefaultAppPool in steps 1 and 2. In step 3 and 4, we tested website with the default landing page Demo.html, which was configured under the Default Document through IIS Server Manger. In steps 5 and 6, we tested the website with dedicated IP
